MAGNUS PRESS
Studies of Relevance in the Christian Faith
Inspirational Books That Enlighten the Mind and Stir the Spirit

What We Publish

1. MAGNUS PRESS is a Christian book publisher interested primarily in biblical studies, inspirational and devotional books, works which contribute a needed Christian perspective to our world, and some biographies. Mostly we publish original trade paperbacks, but occasionally we will publish out-of-print books provided the author holds the copyright and reversion rights.

2. Mss may be in any subject as long as they are well-researched by writers who have a clear                        understanding of the Scriptures.  At MAGNUS PRESS our concern is not author name recognition, but the author's dedication to Jesus Christ and the ability to articulate that faith.

3. We publish books which reflect New Testament Christianity and are not written from a doctrinal bias.  By this we mean that while the author's background or church affiliation may vary, we do not publish books which are blatantly in the context of fundamentalism, liberalism, or any doctrinal system.

4. All mss submitted for review must be written in a popular style  for the average reader.  They should contain anecdotes which illustrate the biblical text.  No pure academia.  However, we will consider academic books with a pastoral emphasis.

5. Apologetics and controversy are welcome as long as the author has a grasp of the subject and can write with love in the truth and power of the Holy Spirit.

6. Mss must be between 100 and 375 pages.  We do not publish booklets.

What We Don't Publish

1. In the area of biblical studies, we do not consider historical novels or clinical case studies.  Nor do we publish Bible study guides.

2. We also do not publish poems, fiction, children's books, youth books, or academic textbooks.

Submission Criteria

1. We prefer a query letter, which may include an outline.  Send it by mail or FAX to the address or number on the contact page.

2. We will also look at 2-3 sample chapters with an outline.  We prefer a ms, but disks are OK.  If we want to see the whole ms, we will contact the author.  (Complete ms may be sent if the author wishes.)

3. All mss must be accompanied by an S.A.S.E. or will not be returned.  Response in 1-4 weeks
.
4. In the case of out-of-print books, send a published copy.

What We Pay Authors
